デビューアルバム「プリーズ・プリーズ・ミー 」の6曲目に収録されているミディアムナンバー。
2ndシングルである「プリーズ・プリーズ・ミー」のB面曲でもある。
ジョンが切ないリードヴォーカルを聴かせる名曲。
コーラスもよく練られてあり、20歳そこそこの若者が作った曲とは思えない。

この曲はジョンが当時心酔していたスモーキー・ロビンソン＆ミラクルズの楽曲を参考に作曲したと言われている。
EMIからのデビュー前より、ステージでは演奏されていた。

アルバム「プリーズ・プリーズ・ミー」のレコーディングより前、1962年6月6日にアビィ・ロードスタジオにて一度録音された（この時のドラマーはピート・ベスト）、がこのテイクは現在失われている。このセッションはオーディションだったという説もあるが、現在でははっきりとわかっていないそうである。

正式なテイクが録音されたのは1962年11月26日。セカンドシングル「プリーズ・プリーズ・ミー」のレコーディングセッション時である。この時は第6テイクまで収録して、最終的に第6テイクがシングル用として採用された。
