ジョンが敬愛するラリー・ウィリアムズが1959年に発表したナンバー。
もちろんジョンが凄みのあるシャウトを効かせてリード・ヴォーカルをとっている。
この曲は元々、1966年12月10日に英国で発売されたビートルズ初のベストアルバム「オールディーズ(未CD化）」に収録されていたもの。
ただし、米国では1年以上前に「ビートルズVI」の収録曲として発売されていた。

現在では編集盤「パスト・マスターズ vol.1&2」に収録されている。

この曲が録音されたのは1965年5月10日。アビイ・ロード第2スタジオ。
5枚目のアルバム「ヘルプ! 」のセッション中の事である。
アメリカ・キャピトルの「とりあえず何でもいいから音源を送れ」という要請によって行われたこの日のレコーディングでは「ディジー・ミス・リジー」とこの曲が録音されている。
元々はデビュー前からステージでのレパートリーとして演奏していた。

この曲は全部で3テイクのリズムトラックが録音されて、第3テイクに各種オーバーダブを加えた。
その日のうちにモノラル・ステレオ両ミックスが作成されてアメリカに送られている。
