ビートルズの英国での3枚目のオリジナルシングル。カップリングは「サンキュー・ガール」。
1963年4月12日に発売された。
全編、ジョンとポールのデュエットで歌われている。

各オリジナルアルバムには未収録のために、編集盤「パスト・マスターズ vol.1&2」に収録されている。

この曲は1963年3月5日、アビイ・ロード第2スタジオにて録音された。

まずこの曲を6テイク録音して、その後にハーモニカ、ギターソロ、イントロのハーモニー部分を6テイク録音。
この曲はこれで完成している。

Out Takes　～ミックス、テイク違い＆リマスター

ステレオとモノラルではイントロのミックスが異なる。
モノラルではイントロのメロディーとユニゾンでハーモニカが聞こえるが、ステレオではカットされている。
「The Beatles Live at BBC」に歌詞を変えた「From us to You」が収録されている。
これは当時ビートルズが出演していたラジオ番組「From us To You」にちなんで録音されたもの。
もちろんラジオ番組のテーマ曲として使用されている。

An anecdote ～　こぼれ話

この曲は録音の5日前、ビートルズがヘレン・シャピロとのツアー中にバスの中で書いた物である。
当初は「あまりにもブルージー過ぎる」のでシングルにはどうか？という事だったが、ハーモニカなどを加えてアレンジした結果、これならよかろう、とシングルにしたそうだ。もちろんチャートの1位を獲得している。
